What is LDN?

What Is LDN?
LDN stands for Low-Dose Naltrexone, a medication originally used in higher doses to treat opioid and alcohol dependence. But in very low doses—typically between 0.5 to 4.5 mg, and sometimes even microdosed in micrograms—LDN works in a completely different way.

Instead of blocking opioids, LDN briefly binds to your opioid receptors, which prompts your body to naturally boost endorphin production. Over time, this may help balance the nervous system, improve mood, reduce inflammation, and support brain healing—especially after long-term substance use.

For people in recovery from Kratom, opioids, or chronic stress, LDN can act as a stabilizer. It’s not sedating or intoxicating, and it won’t cause a high or interfere with daily life. In fact, many people find it gives them a sense of feeling “even” again—emotionally and physically.

Why People Use LDN in Recovery:

  • To ease cravings and emotional dysregulation
  • To improve sleep, mood, and clarity
  • To support healing after tapering Kratom, opioids, or stimulant use
  • To reduce inflammation and pain in chronic illness recovery

Important Notes:
LDN is best introduced after full agonists like Kratom or opioids are mostly out of your system, or when taken in ultra-low doses stacked before taper doses. It’s always best to start low and go slow, especially if you’re sensitive.
