Basic Kratom Tea Recipe
Ingredients:
-
2–5 grams kratom powder (beginner to moderate serving; adjust to preference)
-
2–3 cups water
-
½ lemon or lime (juice) – helps extract alkaloids & reduce bitterness
-
Optional: honey, ginger, or cinnamon (for taste)
Instructions:
-
Boil water – Bring 2–3 cups to a boil, then lower to a gentle simmer.
-
Add kratom powder – Stir in your measured amount.
-
Simmer – Let it gently simmer for 10–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Avoid strong boiling, which may degrade alkaloids.
-
Strain – Use a fine mesh strainer, coffee filter, or cheesecloth to separate the plant matter from the liquid.
-
Add lemon juice – Squeeze in half a lemon (or lime). This helps preserve alkaloids and reduces bitterness.
-
Flavor & serve – Sweeten with honey, add ginger, or a cinnamon stick to improve taste. Drink warm.
Tips
-
Avoid boiling too hard: Heat can damage delicate alkaloids. Stick to a simmer.
-
Batch prep: You can make a larger pot (say, 10–15g kratom in ~1 liter water), then refrigerate. It keeps for 4–5 days.
-
Second wash: After straining, reuse the kratom powder with fresh water for a second, lighter batch.
⚠️ Note: Kratom affects people differently, and higher amounts can cause side effects (nausea, dizziness). Start low, especially if you’re new.
